Poster Child

So, you remember how I said Architect magazine had interviewed Paul about his layoff? And how the photographer, Joe Pugliese granted us with his artistic presence for a photo shoot in our home?

Well, looksy here...

Looks like I can check that off my Honey-Do list (pheeww, I was beginning to wonder when he was going to get that one done!);

To-Do: Have husband & daughter on a magazine cover - check!

Pretty crazy & cool huh? We're crossing our fingers for opportunities that could eventually come from this; even if it is not now (but hopefully it is), but even later when Paul can contact the editor that he now knows with a project that is deserving of publishing -- that's his (and my) dream :) He is quoted 2 or 3 main times in the article; we had no idea he would be on the cover until a couple friends started calling him with the news -- it took an extra week for us to get our copies!

Fortunately Paul just started a temporary drafting job that is helping for now, but he is still thoroughly searching for a permanent architectural position.

This link goes to the magazine website, and to the article specifically (The cover with Paul on it is shown on their home page. That 2nd picture - which is the 1st page of the article, is on the 3rd page on that link). This link goes to a digital reading version of the magazine, with the article shown on pgs. 57-63.

love that cover - do you secretly wish you were there in the background, like with a broom and apron casually cleaning up?

Haha! Yeah! Admittedly, I totally had Taya freshly bathed & dressed cute - just in case - and I'm glad now! But the admittedly part comes more from the fact that I tried to get just a little bit cute myself - you know, just in case.

What was the photographer thinking not having me sweeping or reading or cooking or for best poor society/bad economy effect - SOBBING in the background? ;)

Haha, can you imagine - the photographer is like - Okay, now can you cry? That's when the high school acting in my background would come in SO handy!

Better still, you in the background wearing tattered rags, scrubbing the floor with old gray water, tears running down your soot-covered face.

Wow, that is really cool. And I love that Taya is on the cover too. I am finally getting a chance to catch up on your blog, whenever I try I get interrupted. We will see how long it lasts:)

That's really cool. I don't see how something couldn't come out of this. So how's it like living with two celebrities? By the way, I didn't know he went to Cal Poly. I almost went there for architecture. It's weird to think I could have known him instead of you.

Such a wonderful opporunity for Paul and the lovely Taya to be on the cover of the magazine. Something has just got to work itself out before too long.

If it doesn't, maybe Taya's modeling/acting career will be launched from this?! :)
